Message from Chairman
Dear Energy Stakeholders,
Indonesia is facing a great challenge to securely meeting the need of energy for its sustainable development in the 21st century. The national economy has been growing in the order of 5-6% during the last decade and is expected to be even higher in the decades ahead in order to secure Indonesia’s place among developed nations.
To achieve the development goals, the Government is currently building an unprecedented amount of infrastructure needed, and has made sweeping policy and bureaucratic reforms to enable the economic growth achievable and to take place smoothly. Among the infrastructure being built are additional power generation capacities of 35 GW in the next 5 years. These include the rather ambitious development of renewable energy to make them contribute to 23% of the primary energy mix by 2025. However, such a huge endeavor is facing great challenges when it comes to its implement-ability according to plan, in terms of financial and in some cases technical, but not less importantly is the challenge of lacking cohesion and coordination in the policy implementation.
MASKEEI, as a civil society organization, and being a partner to the government in the energy demand side management, believe that in order to secure the national energy availability, the government must look at the huge potentials of energy efficiency and other related efforts to create “additional” source of energy needed for the economic growth. These potentials seem to have been rather overlooked so far, while many countries in the world have been focusing on energy efficiency since years to reduce their dependence on fossil energy resources and, along the way, to mitigate the negative impacts of global warming and climate change.
Organizing IEECCE 2017, is one of our responses to promoting and stimulating greater attentions on the potentials of energy efficiency efforts in Indonesia. IEECCE 2017 which will run 2 full days from May 9-10, 2017 will be the first major event at international standards ever organized in Indonesia dedicated to deal with the issues of the energy demand side management. By organizing IEECCE 2017, MASKEEI is proud of and feel the honor of filling the gap between the current extensive efforts to develop greater energy supply and the importance of making our use of energy more efficient in order to secure the national energy security and resilience in the future.
We invite over 60 prominent national and international speakers to share their views and best practices in making energy more efficient and sustainable. The Conference will address at least 4 main sectors in which energy efficiency plays strategic roles, which are the Manufacturing Industry, the Commercial Buildings, the Transportation and the Household sector.
To complement the Conference, we stage an Exhibition which will run parallel to it, will be reserved exclusively for major sponsors to the Event, exposing their respective state of the arts of technology, products and solutions to energy saving and enhanced productivity.
During the Event, we will also facilitate Exhibitors and selected Conference Delegates to conduct Business Forums with their potential clients and stakeholders, so to give them the ability to make use of the event to augment their businesses.
We will be delighted to welcoming you to IEECCE 2017 either as Sponsors or Delegates and, together we will make the event a great success.
Please let us know if you have any questions or need specific arrangement related to your participations to IEECCE 2017. The Organizing Committee and our Organizers will be happy to answer any question you may have and make the best efforts to make your participations highly productive and enjoyable.
With the warmest regard,
Chairman of MASKEEI
